It's fantastically beautiful, it lends itself to quiet exploration and contemplation, and it delivers on exquisite dining and culture. You had a mental image of Paris, formed from various films and posters and stories -- and you find out that it's just as you pictured it, or like me even better than I imagined.  Sitting at a cafe outside and watch the world go by, the winding cobblestone streets lined with amazing architecture and stores & museums, and ... well, you get the idea! So much to enjoy and see.
